Featured album /// "Interpretation" by M. Cross Dougherty

As featured on episode 6.15 of The Relay Station

New from Heart Dance Records comes an experimental, four-song EP from electronic artist M. Cross Dougherty. “Interpretation” is a short collection of electronic compositions that were created and recorded on a vintage four-track cassette recorder, paying homage to ambient music’s electronic roots but with the modern era’s love and obsession with warm, analog tape. The album is rich with soft noises, warbles and tape flutters, variable pitch shifts, and all that you’d expect from cassette tapes, and the compositions have a drone-like quality, inviting you to sit back and absorb the synthetic resonance. The overall vibe of the EP is a slow burn, with a molasses-like evolutionary stride and patiently introduces progressive changes at a meditative pace — a perfect companion to your next flow state. “Interpretation” by M. Cross Dougherty is available now on most streaming music services as well as at https://heartdancerecords.bandcamp.com.
