Featured album /// “Where Her Flowers Still Bloom” by Tides

As featured on episode 6.19 of The Relay Station

New from Whitelabrecs comes an eight-song album from Scottish ambient artist Tides. “Where Her Flowers Still Bloom” is a response to his mother’s diagnosis of early-onset dementia, the sort of plight that is difficult to express in words. Through his exploration of grief, fading memory, and the changes in relational dynamics, the album respectfully invites you to sit, and listen to his story conveyed through distressed audio, intimate sound manipulation, sculpted textures, and tarnished instrumentation. There’s a tangible feeling of grief coupled with love and longing, clinging desperately to that which cannot be held — it’s beautiful and heart-breaking, and leaves the listener in a state of reflection and gratitude. You’d be remiss to let this album pass you by. “Where Her Flowers Still Bloom” by Tides is available now on most streaming music services as well as at https://whitelabrecs.bandcamp.com.
